Fat Daddy's Fort Worth
A New Live Music Venue
(and not a moment too soon!)
As many of our fans have found out lately, live music venues have become fewer and fewer these days. Luckily, there are some new venues opening up to help pick up the slack. InVersion books many private events and clubs are essential for our clients to come and see us play. So we really NEED them and YOU to come see us so those venues continue to make money and stay open.
One such venue that is opening a new location is Fat Daddy's. With a pretty amazing location in Mansfield, Fat Daddy's is opening a new location in Fort Worth AND InVersion Band is playing there this Saturday, January 27th, 2018.
We're very proud to be one of the first acts on the new Fat Daddy's stage and are looking forward to playing here for years to come. To do that, we need all our InVersionites to come out. Please make a reservation and show the management that you care about live music and show us your best moves on the dance floor this Saturday! Our show starts at 9 PM!

Meet Mr. & Mrs. Tyler and Sarah Atkins!
There are couples and families that stand out in your mind over the years for being the sweetest & kindest people to work for. Entertaining two families and making sure the bride and groom are 110% happy is a sometimes challenging, but these two and their families made our job a dream. We really enjoyed performing for them and their energy all night long showed us that they loved us back. A beautiful bride and handsome groom in an elegant venue made our night a lovely experience.
The Carlisle Room is located in the historic and newly renovated Lone Star Gas building in the heart of downtown Dallas. Twenty foot ceilings, terrazzo floors and marble pillars are just a few of the highlights of this historic 1930’s Art Deco design. The addition of a private bridal and groom’s suite is what it means to have your cake and eat it too.

While trolling through our web statistics on a slow Sunday night, I realized that we were getting traffic again from the Modern Luxury Dallas website. I was really curious about what was going on with this and ran a cursory Google search and found that indeed, the band had won 'Best of' back in December of 2016!. Pretty AWESOME!
We surely don't know who nominated us or how this happened again (this is the 2nd time we have won "Best of Best" from Modern Luxury Magazine)! If someone from Modern Luxury Magazine is reading this, please let us know who we need to send cookies to! We're certainly grateful for this and we wish to thank you Modern Luxury for being so kind to us.
Without further adieu, here is the article we stumbled upon last night:
IVB - Modern Luxury's 'Best of Best'
We LOVE the blurb they wrote about us. We couldn't be more proud:
"Inversion Band This is one of the most sought-after live bands in the city. With a broad playlist that includes everything from Top 40 to old-school Motown, this 11-piece band can please any crowd, big or small."
Thank you Modern Luxury Dallas!
Well, here we are and happy new year to all our friends and family! InVersion Band is officially happily celebrating our seventh year! All I can say is 'wow'. It just seems like yesterday when my wife and I hatched this 'brilliant idea' to do our own thing in the band world. Seven years later, all I can say is that 'we've come a long way baby'!
There have been many smiles, tears, bumps, bruises, triumphs, and defeats. I can certainly say there has been some expected and unexpected things along the way. There has been many times were we had clearly failed but were either too stubborn and / or ignorant to know that we had failed OR we knew it and didn't care. This band was something special and we knew it.
In any case, we're glad we're still here and continuing to bring smiles, dancing, and happiness to crowds all over. We also have this sneaking suspicion that 2018 is going to be our best year ever. We know for a fact that with your help, it will be.
So.... with all that gushy emotional stuff said, we continue to cheer you all on and ask that you return the favor by supporting live music. Even if you're not watching InVersion Band, as long you're cheering any live band in Dallas or Fort Worth, you're our hero.
Cheers from all of us at InVersion Band and let's make this the best year ever!
This year, InVersion Band's cup ranneth over this year with some really great holiday parties. We certainly love these events and love our customers that call on us to entertain their company's personnel. Having a band at your event can make your party a huge success. Choosing the right band is super important. Here are a few things to look for when looking for the right group to entertain your guests. Aside from sounding and looking great, hiring a band that is well funded / well equipped, is key. There are a million things that can go wrong with a band's equipment and personnel during or before a show. Unplanned breakdowns can throw a wet blanket on your party before it even gets started. Make sure your band has backup systems for their mixers and other equipment that can be instantly substituted if something goes wrong. Also, if the band leader / ownership isn't easy to work with and is inflexible during the event, you could have a nightmare on your hands. Hiring amateurs or start up party bands may be a cheaper option. But, even if the band sounds and looks good, if they aren't event veterans that are prepared for the worst scenarios of gear or other unplanned issues, your party could come to a grinding halt in the middle of the fun or never even launch.
Another BIG factor in planning your private party is choosing your venue. MOST hotels and event venues are extremely well run while others are apathetic to your vendor's needs, or have major technical problems like power issues, or broken freight elevators. Making sure your vendors have quick and appropriate access to the loading docks is imperative. If your vendors have to make dozens of trips through long narrow corridors, it could be difficult for your event to start on time. Also, make sure the venue allows your vendors to get there as early as they require (within reason) to navigate any load-in obstacles.
Choosing your planner is extremely important. We can't say enough good things about many good planners we've worked with. This week Steve Kemble with A Dose of Sass won our most fabulous prize. He's organized, easy to work with, and most of all FUN! We have recommendations for venues, planners, catering, etc. Just click here!
With that said, here are few pictures of the venues we played this week! We certainly enjoyed playing for our clients this week and hope they all enjoyed InVersion Band! This week, we were at Le Meridian Stoneleigh, The Fairmont and The Perot Museum.
Kudos to the staff at Le Meridian and The Fairmont for their exceptional service.

The answer is: Yes, it’s expected.
But it’s also a chance for all you brides out there to truly show you know that not everything is about you on your wedding day. That there really is another person involved (that would be the groom) who deserves a bit of recognition, too.
We’re talking wedding presents — specifically, yours to your husband-to-be.
Tradition does, indeed, hold that both you and he exchange gifts. And while it’s true that some guys are initially shocked to learn your engagement ring doesn’t also count as a “present,” that’s no excuse for you to waver.
“Giving him something that’s just for him will make him feel really special,” advises BrideBox.com.
Here’s what you need to know now that it’s prime time for weddings:
* When to exchange them. Etiquette dictates that the hand-off occurs at one of three times: the night before the wedding, the morning of the ceremony, or right before leaving on your honeymoon. Think it’s bad luck to see the groom before the nuptials? “Many couples choose to courier gifts via bridesmaids or groomsmen just before the ceremony,” says Brides.com.
* There’s a thin line between “romantic” and “mushy.” Some of you may be tempted to compile a “love notes” journal of every bit of correspondence you’ve ever sent your groom. Even assuming he’s the type who wouldn’t consider that a bit “over the top,” there’s always the chance he might be left wondering, “Okay, where’s my real present?”– especially if his gift to you is a serious piece of jewelry.
* The consensus choice. There’s a reason a watch invariably makes everyone’s short list: It’s the perfect statement of who he is or aspires to be. (It’s also a lot more impressive than a flask, which for some reason also gets a few votes).
No less a taste arbiter than MarthaStewartWeddings.com favors Baume & Mercier’s Clifton line — as elegant as the original 1950s model that inspired it — for the way it “easily transitions from big day to every day.” Like the Swiss watchmaker’s timelessly charming (and affordably luxurious) Classima line, it comes with a choice of straps, dial faces and a variety of what’s known as “small complications” that go way beyong just telling the hour. You can shop them at the Baume & Mercier e-boutique or by calling 1-800-MERCIER, where free engraving and wrapping are available.
* Fun fact. One writer at AskMen.com says he’s “heard of women giving their husbands watches in the ceremony instead of a wedding ring.” If so, the answer is: No, just like your engagement ring, that wouldn’t also qualify as a wedding present.
What a gorgeous room & the stage was set to party!

Past Club Shows
Black Friday was never so fun at Memphis Nightclub in Addison. Most bands in DFW consider this venue 'home base' as the musicians from all over come here after their events conclude. Here are a few pictures of the evening. I think you can see we had a little bit of fun that night! Next stop is Sherlock's Addison on Saturday Dec. 2nd! Hope to see you there!
